Guido Manuilo - La Línea Invisible de las Fronteras
Auspiciada por el Departamento Cultural de la Embajada Argentina en el marco de los 200 aos del cruce de los Andes entre Chile y Argentina, esta muestra comprende 36 fotografías a color de mediano formato (40 x 80 cms), enmarcadas y dispuestas en 9 paneles individuales.
Aún cuando su ubicación - en un rincón del lobby de acceso, entre el mesón de información y la entrada al café- no es la mas apropiada, la belleza de las imágenes de Manuilo logran cautivar al espectador, llevándolo en un viaje hasta la magnífica y a veces desolada belleza del extremo austral del continente.
La excelente técnica del fotógrafo es evidente en imágenes de foco preciso, colores bien balanceados y un uso magistral de la luz y la composición.
Sus 36 imágenes recorren desde Punta Arenas (Chile) hasta Ushuaia (Argentina), haciendo un justo balance entre el retrato del paisaje y de la gente que vive en estos parajes.
Junto a cada imágen, un texto breve ofrece más información, ayudando al espectador a comprender mejor la historia detrás de la imágen y las particularidades específicas de la zona austral.
Junto con abordar el tema social, la naturaleza, la riqueza cultural, y el pasado histórico de la zona, el tema focal de la exhibición es presentado en varias imágenes.

En ellas, Manuilo nos muestra la constante interacción entre los Chilenos y Argentinos que conviven allí : gendarmes argentinos y carabineros (policías) chilenos colaborando en labores fronterizas, participantes de una agrupación folklórica chileno-argentina, un automóvil de fabricación argentina con patente chilena, etc.
Las condiciones extremas del clima y el territorio terminan por unir a ambos pueblos, desdibujando a veces los espacios limítrofes trazados en los mapas.
La belleza y calidad de esta muestra fotográfica tal vez merece una exhibición más lucida, sin embargo, no por ello hay que dejar pasar la oportunidad de recrear la vista y aprender más sobre una región que la mayoría de nosotros rara vez tiene ocasión de visitar.

The Invisible Line of Frontiers
Manuilo has captured before its lens the people and the landscapes of the Patagonia, where the limits of human and territorial geography seem to vanish until becoming almost invisible.
Sponsored by the Cultural Department of the Argentinian Embassy as part of the celebrations of the 200 years of the Andean cross between Chile and Argentina, this exhibition comprises 36 color prints of medium format (40 x 80 cms), framed and disposed in 9 individual panels.
Although its location - in a corner of the access lobby, between the information desk and the entrance to the cafeteria- is not the best, the beauty of Manuilo’s images manage to captivate the spectator, taking them on a trip to the magnificent and sometimes desolate beauty of the austral extreme of the continent.
The photographer’s fine technique is evident in images of sharp focus, well-balanced colors and a masterful use of light and composition.

Each image is accompanied by a brief text offering further information, helping the visitors to understand better the story behind each image and the specific particularities of this zone.
